Spare a thought for the poor civil servants at the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) whose summer was ruined by the evil beast that is known only as Curriculum Online. Holidays were delayed or cancelled as they worked frantically in a bid to hit the planned timetable, but despite their best efforts that proved impossible. The person in charge of Curriculum Online Janette Sinclair, known to many as national grid for learning head honcho Doug Browns’ deputy, is probably quite glad to be promoted to a cross-departmental role dealing with disadvantaged youth. Now she can sit back and watch her old boss try to juggle twice as many balls.
