Telling stories out loud in class is the best way to teach classics to primary school children, according to the country’s leading association for classical teachers.
The Joint Association of Classical Teachers believes that telling stories such as The Trojan War and The Story of Achilles to nine to 11-year-olds is the most beneficial way of learning.
Research carried out showed that mythology was a favourite part of learning for children and teachers.
