SURREALIST artist Patrick Hughes and Nigel Dacre, former editor of ITN news and current dean of media at the London College of Printing, are the speakers at the London Institute’s summer series of “platform events”.
The institute, which encompasses the Camberwell College of Arts, Central St Martin’s and Chelsea colleges of art and design, London College of Fashion and London College of Printing, and, from September, the Byam Shaw School of Art, claims to be the world’s largest educational centre for the creative arts.
It offers free events every term and previous speakers include film director Mike Leigh, broadcaster Trevor McDonald and artist Quentin Blake.
Patrick Hughes will make his guest appearance at the Rootstein Hopkins Space, London College of Fashion, 20 John Princes Street, on June 11 (booking: s.randjelovic@linst.ac.uk), and Nigel Dacre will be at the Cochrane Theatre, Southampton Row, on July 3 (box office: 020 7269 1606).
