There is a huge build-up of pressure for those who are waiting for exam results on Tuesday 7 August. However, nothing will change what is coming down the pipeline.
We wish everyone all the best, but whatever comes in the post - or onto their mobile phone - we really urge those who are waiting for their Scottish Qualifications Authority certificates to feel proud of their achievements.
We hope that:
- you achieve what you need to…
- …but that you also keep believing that you will find the right path for you, whatever results day brings for you
- that you continue to explore all your options - there is help, advice and support available, should you need it (Skills Development Scotland Helpline on 0808 100 8000 from 8am) and online @mywowscotland
- you realise that finding the right path for you takes time and patience, and sometimes a few detours
- you continue to have an open mind and a flexible approach about your next steps - you will need to for your whole working life
- you keep working hard
- you understand your own strengths, skills and preferences because that self-awareness is so important.
Most importantly of all, we hope that no one feels that results day is an end in itself. It is definitely the beginning of the next stage of a lifelong journey, which will no doubt be unpredictable and bumpy at times. But enjoy the ride!
