The Government’s plans to change the inspection system will fail teachers and pupils yet again. Forty-eight hours’ notice is not enough. Teachers will be put under even more pressure. This will lead to more staff sickness due to stress. I’d like to see what would happen to politicians if they had to undergo rigorous observations, mountains of paperwork, assessments and payment by results. Perhaps they would give the public some breathing space and leave their profession as soon as possible.
