The most outstanding teams and individuals that the further education sector has to offer have been honoured at the TES FE Awards 2016.

Hundreds of guests gathered for the presentation ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London this evening to see 14 awards handed out.

More than 100 providers, teams and individuals were shortlisted for awards. The host for the evening was comedian Shappi Khorsandi.

The big winner of the evening was London-based Elatt Connected Learning, which took home the employer engagement and training provider of the year awards, as well as the overall FE provider of the year title.

Bridgwater College in Somerset was named FE college of the year, while Hereford Sixth Form College became the inaugural recipient of the sixth-form college of the year award.

Individual recognition was given to Cathy Walsh, the former principal of Barking and Dagenham College, who won the lifetime achievement award for her commitment to her community and students.
