Proving that it is the definitive place to go for education news and views, Tes took home nine awards at the Education Journalism Awards ceremony last night.
Of the 17 awards handed out at the ceremony, held in central London, more than half went to Tes writers and editors.
Five Tes journalists won first prize in their nominated categories: national education journalism, outstanding use of data in education journalism, most promising newcomer to education journalism, outstanding further and vocational journalism and outstanding regional education journalism.
And four Tes writers were awarded runners-up prizes in their nominated categories.
‘Exceptional journalists’
The annual Education Journalism Awards, drawing nominees from among the best-known names in educational journalism in the national and the specialist press, is run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Alison Tobin, chair of the CIPR education and skills group, said “The awards celebrate the very best in education reporting. They highlight the ability of exceptional journalists to hold policymakers and education institutions to account on a range of issues, from the lack of primary-school places to student mental health.”
Ann Mroz, Tes editor, said that she was extremely proud of her journalistic team. “Once again, the Tes team has shown that it’s the best in the business,” she said.
