TES editor Gerard Kelly landed a prestigious award for journalism last week at the Professional Publishers Association Awards, where he won editor of the year. He was commended for helping the paper to “achieve its potential with a vibrant mix of pre-planned set pieces, investigations and people stories”. TES Connect, The TES’s website, won digital product of the year, and was described as the “Duracell bunny of digital publishing”. In addition, Anne Thrope (Ms), TES Magazine’s columnist, was highly commended in the columnist of the year category and William Stewart was shortlisted for writer of the year. It was also a successful evening for The TES’s sister magazine, Times Higher Education, which won weekly magazine of the year and media brand of the year.
