In support of Learning and Skills Council chief executive Mark Haysom’s crusade against FE waffle, (FErret, September 12) I would like to alert him to an example of the genre.
The fledgling lifelong learning sector skills council has a remit which many find hard to explain in plain English - giving rise to the use of classic jargon phrases such as “cascading the standards” and “mapping the qualifications.”
Now, those behind the new organisation have come up with a new one. They say it has developed a “six-toed footprint.” Always useful to know. But has the proposal for an SSC got any legs? I suppose it must.
