A primary school has decided to ban a playground craze where children weave plastic-coated wires into bracelets and other objects.
Cliff Lane school in Ipswich said it had been forced to introduce the ban on the “scoubidou” toy after an incident where pupils had flicked each other in the face with the colourful wires, catching some children in the eye.
Owain Richards, headteacher, of Cliff Lane, said that parents had supported his decision to confiscate the toys.
