Information skills were important when we only had libraries, but now we have the Internet, CD-Rom and DVD those skills are invaluable. The fact they have not been treated seriously is a continuing disgrace. David Wray of Warwick University describes information skills as: definng subject and purpose; locating information; selecting information; organising information; evaluating information; and communicating results. He goes on to suggest some ways of fitting this into the primary curriculum.
