evidence was quoted from the
consultation exercise on pupil opinion carried out for Save the Children.
Just a dismissal backed with a quote from the Bible: “When I became a man I put away childish things.” Most children will know that the Bible is full of inconsistencies itself and can offer quotes to support all sides of
an argument such as “Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the
kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
Young people do have a sense of justice whic is easily undermined by the actions, and more likely inactions, of adults. My younger son would like to know why the only after-school activity offered by his school is supported study classes.
He has been elected to his
pupil council on a mandate of attempting to have some social or recreational activities on offer.
He is looking forward to listening as well as contributing to the
council.
The only club in his school is the girls’ football team and may I thank the member of staff responsible?
God help us if people sharing Harry Clark’s views are put in charge of the school councils.
