In common with all Daydream’s materials, these charts are designed to complement the national curriculum. They take Daydream’s successful wall charts into a different dimension, giving them the interactive facilities afforded by ICT. They are particularly pertinent to pupils at key stages 2 and 3.

Three subjects are currently available: English, ICT and science, each with a user-friendly interface that allows teachers and pupils to interact with text and animations on 45 to 50 charts, and access a comprehensive and fully interactive quiz with hundreds of questions.

The charts aim to help teachers get more from their whiteboards. Elements can be disassembled and reassembled. Don’t want to use all of a chart? Then you can turn off images and text, and isolate individual items to concentrate on and develop parts of the bigger picture. Even the animations can be viewed and controlled.

This resource would be of great value in introducing a particular topic or theme. Once the introductory lesson is complete the corresponding wall chart could be displayed, offering visual reinforcement to the ideas and concepts covered. At a later date, with the chart removed, the theme or topic could be revisited, using the software as an assessment and revision tool.

The quizzes are ideally suited for use in the plenary session or for revision. All three titles are attractive and simple to get to grips with.

They are consistent in format and design so everyone can quickly gain familiarity and confidence in using them.

If you are looking for software to help you get the most out of your whiteboard, then Daydream Education’s Interactive Whiteboard Charts are an excellent resource from which to start. They are easy to use, do what they are supposed to do (and well) and are good value for money.
