Directors of education, as we know, love an audience. They are always willing to meet the public. And so it was that Aberdeen’s John Stodter found himself on a cold winter’s evening invited to explain recent changes in education to a WRI meeting in the north east.
The ladies were well-clad to fend off the wind-chill factor but as the evening wore on Stodter detected that his talk was becoming overly long and complex.
This seemed to be confirmed when the chairperson thanked him for his talk on all these educational changes.
“We couldna say we understood a’thing you said but it fair took a chunk oot the winter.”
