Becoming an international teacher is a major decision.

After all, it’s not just a new job you’re taking on but also a whole new way of life: from having to learn a new language to immersing yourself in the culture of your host country.

To find out more about this experience, from the decision to move to embracing all that a new school and host country have to offer, we spoke with six teachers based in Switzerland, Oman, Dubai, Malawi, Malaysia and Italy to find out more about their stories.

From a chance to travel the globe, escape an unfilling former career or enjoy culinary delight across the world, it’s clear that becoming an international teacher is a journey quite like any other.
