A London special school has been named as one of the UK’s best small places to work. Mapledown School in Cricklewood, north London, was ranked fourth by the Great Place to Work group, which judged staff attitudes and perceptions. The survey showed that 92 per cent of staff enjoyed working at Mapledown. Head Steve Carroll said: “The largest part of a school’s budget is spent on people and if you want a really great school you need to have really great people. We recruit people who bring their heart to work and then train them with the right skills.”
