Join the Tes news team as we look at the major announcement this week from the DfE as to the measures it will take to compensate for learning loss ahead of next year’s exams.

We question whether the measures are “fair” when it comes to addressing varying levels of disruption across the country, and we consider how an expert group will examine this problem.

We also look at other major announcements this week, including that full Ofsted inspections will not resume until the summer and that KS1 Sats will be cancelled next year but KS2 Sats will go ahead (in the most part).

And we finish with a story about the Global Teacher Prize winner and a British maths teacher who also won a special prize at the awards ceremony.
