Dartmoor MAT chief moves to Cornwall trust

The Cornwall Education Learning Trust has appointed Dan Morrow as its next chief executive officer.

Mr Morrow will join from Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust - which has 15 primaries, three secondaries and one special school across Devon - where he has held the position of CEO since January 2021.

He will take up the role at CELT in January 2025, where Lisa Mannall - who was previously the South West’s regional schools commissioner - is currently trust lead.

CELT has 11 primaries and five secondaries across Cornwall.

Applications for Mr Morrow’s replacement are set to open at midnight on 8 September.

Before being appointed as CEO for Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, Mr Morrow held the same role at the Woodland Academy Trust, based in south-east London.

Mr Morrow has also previously worked as a headteacher and associate principal.

Mr Morrow told Tes: “I’m really pleased that DMAT is now so secure and starting to accelerate achievement, which means it’s time for fresh leadership. I am delighted to take on CELT after the phenomenal leadership of Lisa Mannall.”

A spokesperson for CELT said the trust was “delighted to have Dan Morrow as [its] new leader”.

“We are excited to see CELT continue to reach new heights and achieve exceptional outcomes for all students, staff and local communities, building on the firm foundations Lisa Mannall has put in place alongside the hard work and commitment of our staff,” they added.

Ms Mannall is retiring, the trust confirmed.

Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust has been contacted for comment.
