International schools group Globeducate has expanded its presence in the UK with the acquisition of two schools in London.
Globeducate - which has more than 65 bilingual and international schools and educates 40,000 students in 11 countries - has announced that L’Ecole des Petits, in Fulham, and L’Ecole de Battersea have become part of its fold, meaning it now has five schools in the UK.
L’Ecole des Petits is a pre-primary school founded in 1977 with capacity for up to 120 pupils aged 3-6, while L’Ecole de Battersea, founded in 2005, caters for up to 280 pupils aged 3-11.
They provide bilingual learning with elements from both the French and English national curricula.
The schools are inspected by both Ofsted and the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and, says Globeducate, offer a “rigorous bilingual curriculum that promotes French language and culture alongside English education”.
James Polansky, chief executive of Globeducate UK, praised the schools’ “dedication to bilingual proficiency, preparing pupils for a globalised world”, saying that “these values fit very well with our wider Globeducate family”.
Nicholas Otten, co-director at the group, added that the two schools would “work closely” with Globeducate’s bilingual schools in Paris and its AEFE schools in Morocco and the Netherlands, “opening new connections and professional opportunities for our specialist teachers in French bilingual education”.
