There are now 231 schools confirmed as having reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in buildings, according to Department for Education figures posted this morning.
Of these 231 schools, 227 are recorded as currently offering full-time, face-to-face learning for all pupils.
Giving evidence to the Commons Education Select Committee this morning, education secretary Gillian Keegan said that three schools are providing hybrid education - a mix of face-to-face and remote arrangements.
Speaking to the Commons Education Select Committee this morning, Ms Keegan said it was expected that there would be some more RAAC cases in schools but only a “handful” as the numbers have slowed down.
Ms Keegan also told the committee that all schools that needed one have had a first survey and most have had a second survey. She said those still waiting are often “more tricky” cases as they have other issues, for example, asbestos. She added that these schools “may be waiting until Christmas” for a second survey.
