Revealed: The Tes Schools Awards 2024 winners

The Tes Schools Awards have been held tonight for the 16th year to celebrate the commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK.

The awards event brought together nominated teachers and schools from across UK state and independent schools, including early years, primary and secondary settings.

A panel of judges - including school leaders, experts and education researchers - helped select the 2024 winners who were announced this evening at a gala ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

This year, there were 22 award categories including the lifetime achievement award. This award went to John Morris, executive headteacher at Ardleigh Green Learning Federation, who was awarded an OBE in 2015 for his services to education.

The community engagement award, which went to Bradford Citizens and their work supporting young people in the local community, was named in honour of Sir Tim Brighouse, the legendary education figure who passed away in December 2023.

Jon Severs, Tes editor and chair of the Tes Schools Awards judges, said: “It is such a joy to be able to celebrate the amazing work schools do - day in, day out - in increasingly difficult conditions”.

“Those who work in schools go the extra mile in all facets of their roles and it is fantastic to be able to say thank you to them through the Tes Schools Awards.”
