More than 237,000 students in 135 countries around the world, including in the UK, have received their Cambridge International AS- and A-level results today.
International AS and A levels are chiefly sat by international schools and private schools, and the organisation that said in total 559,000 entries were received for this year’s exams, a 14 per cent increase on 2022.
Within the UK, Cambridge International said there were 5,000 A-level entries across 260 schools and 2,700 entries in about 170 schools for AS levels.
A-level students across England are preparing for their results day next week on Thursday 17 August.
Cambridge said this year’s exam standards had returned to 2019 levels, after changes during the pandemic, and that the board had taken into account the impact of Covid disruption when setting this year’s grade boundaries.
While data on outcomes achieved by students have not been published, Rod Smith, group managing director for international education at Cambridge, congratulated students “for their hard work in achieving these results”.
“They have shown great resilience over the past few years and have kept on moving forward with their education. With these qualifications our students can feel confident that they have developed the skills they need for the future, so they can embrace whatever opportunities lie ahead,” he added.
Mr Smith also extended his thanks to Cambridge schools and teachers “who once again have displayed tremendous commitment and passion for education that has been core to their students’ success”.
Cambridge International will issue its iGCSE results on Wednesday 16 August.
