A new special Tes Scotland podcast series for the summer, Film Schools: what we learn when cinema goes to school, looks at some of the movies’ most memorable depictions of teachers.

We pick the brains of a real-life teacher about a school-set film that left a mark on them. We ask what it gets right and wrong about teaching, what continuing professional development the staff are in desperate need of, and what tips this fictional school has to offer on how (not) to go about the job.

The first episode features one of the most recognisable schools ever projected on to the big screen: the towering spires of Hogwarts, from the Harry Potter series.
