Thousands of teachers from across the UK travel across the world to teach in all manner of interesting, unusual and exotic locations.
As such we asked our followers on our international Twitter account to share their stories of some of the more unusual aspects of school life where they work.
And from having surfboards in school storage, clearing the playground of monkeys to watching swan pedalos cruising past their classroom, the answers did not disappoint
Morning everyone. Friday rolls around again! Here’s another fun question for you: what’s the quirkiest/strangest/craziest thing about your school? You can see a volcano from the staff room? Animals run wild in the playground? You can ski around
it in the winter? Let us know!

Monkeys!
We can see dusky leaf monkeys at times. They are often swinging through the trees a field over from us. Great classroom view.
And we have a kampung hut / play area! pic.twitter.com/CkEvDQFboY

Stray dogs
Our school field seems to be a go to for stray dogs.
I take them in if they trust me.
We have saved 3 puppies which have been adopted. One is now in the UK!
