A founding member of the Headteachers’ Roundtable is to appear before a teacher conduct panel.
John Tomsett, headteacher of Huntington School, near York, who received a visit by education secretary Damian Hinds at his school in July, is to face a disciplinary hearing next week.
The hearing will take place before a professional conduct panel of the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) in Coventry.

The reasons for the hearing have not been made public but relate to his former employment at a school in Eastbourne, according to the TRA website.
Mr Tomsett has taken a leave of absence from his school in York. He entered the teaching profession 29 years ago and has been a headteacher for 14 years.
The Headteachers’ Roundtable is a non-party political group operating as a thinktank, exploring policy issues from a range of perspectives.
During his visit in the summer, Mr Hinds was said to have seen how Huntington’s research school played a role in the York Schools and Academies Board, which is a collaboration between the city’s state schools and academies.
In recent years Mr Tomsett has been a regular writer for Tes.
City of York Council said that because it is a regulatory process, it would inappropriate for it to comment at this time.
