This is a half termly plan. Just written last week. This plan requires the song 'whats that coming over the hill, is it a monster!?' by the Automatic.
The song is broken down into sections (see attached sheet) so that each segment of the song can be performed by a group within the class. All building towards a performance in week 7!
Very up beat and each lesson is built on the same priciples and routine. Can be simplified or made more advanced. Please feedback
Differentiated 4 ways. Worksheets that allow the children to apply thier understanding of the relationship between units on length. The relationship between mm, cm, meters and km.
VAK friendly using points system for your competitive learners and a ruler aid to aid memory of facts!
The presentation has around 20 different items which we want to know the cost of. So for example - electricty per mont. How much does it cost the average family??
This is a great resource to open children/young adults eyes to the cost of living. It is actually extremely funny to hear some of the answers that are suggested. Use the answer sheet and play in groups going through each item first, then swap sheets and then reveal the answers!!
Enjoy - Great fun and strong messages!! Prices are reflective of the north of England in 2010 so feel free to ammend!
This is a writing intervention programme I have developed and used to engage boys with writing. It is based around a fictinal character called Gravlar. I have the introduction slides, plus a whole host of follow up focused activities. Activities include, creative writing, sentence structure, SPAG, drama, speaking and listening etc. It's not the finished article by a long way but it would fill at least a whole term engaging boys in writing! My boys loved it in year 4, we even did some green screen drama on ipads using videostar (free app). I have uploaded as much as I could find.
Fun, Modern and affirming!!
This is a presenation I created to put enterprise of 'what is enterprise' across to young children and young adults by semi relating it to modern culture of computers, music and rag to riches stories.
Use the script to help you get into the essence of each of the people that are discussed. You will need to youtube Ben Gulak (dragons den america) for a clip to accompany the presentation (very inspiring young man).

A lesson graded outstanding in an observation.
The lesson links the torch relay to the use of a large map of the uk. The children plotted the route using the guide, string and pins.
The lesson also informs the chn about the significance of the olympics and the flame.
Map is printable on publisher 90cm by 60cm (large). Added in specific questions linked to AT2 and AT3 for geography to suit my class. Children loved the lesson.
This is a great starter based on the Million Pound Drop TV show. I made up some bundles of cash which the kids loved. The children come out in pairs MAG and LAG.
6 Questions to get through to the last question.
The children loved it and it reinforced thier previous learning
Powerpoint slides set to run through at set speed. An image is displayed with a random number of items displayed. The chn have to estimate how many are there as there isnt time to count accurately.
Chn enjoy the game and it hammers home estimating practically.

Kids in my class love it!!
Basically I took a shoe box and painted it and stick on lots of question marks etc and cut a hand size hole in the top. Then covered the hole with foam so that the children cant see where their hand goes. Inside are 24 ping pong balls all with a number on that relate to a fun classroom reward game! (see mystery box games) all of these games require at most a whiteboard and pen or just themselves.
The kids love the games and the idea that it is a mystery!!
Questions set in increasing difficulty. Red 2 easiest and Blue 2 hardest.
Differentiated for a Y3 class.
Chn expected to solve problems using a written method without support.
3 lessons worth of slides slides with links to the internet and resources.
All resources available on the TES, Primary Resources etc.
Linked to lesson plans supplied and supplied starter activity for lesson 2.
11 different SPAG elements required for the children to create and identify.
Simple but my Y6 children have benefitted from using them and applying their understanding of the SPAG elements.
Y1 to Y3 depending on ability.
Fairly simple.
The pictures are used to help the children build a compound sentence.
A good idea would be to get the chn to build a simple bank of connectives or supply them - these could be as simple as 'and' 'then' or more complex.
The children need to develop a sentence that telss a story using the pictures to help the order.
Tailored with some Zombies (boys!!)
and some Horrid Henry for Everyone!
