<p>Within this download is a set of six revision cards, which have been ‘tried and tested’ in the classroom and can be printed as a booklet to assist teaching and revision of Priestley’s ‘An Inspector Calls’.</p> <p>In the collection are single cards relating to each key character in the play - Mr Birling, Mrs Birling, Sheila, Eric, Gerald, Inspector Goole - and a selection of hand-chosen quotes (3-5) linked to each of these characters. Mr Birling’s card has been completed, as scaffolding for students’ completion of the later cards, and this scaffold is slowly removed as the cards are completed. Each card asks for quotes, techniques, and for the student to think about the effect of these techniques.</p> <p>There are several ways that these cards can be used:</p> <ul> <li>printed as a booklet for a revision task</li> <li>used for homework</li> <li>cut out and used as a ‘card sort’ activity or ‘pair’ activity</li> </ul>

<p>Included is a really useful writing map to encourage students to begin and develop independence when writing analytical paragraphs in English.</p> <p>This student-friendly writing mat has been tried and tested within a number of classrooms by writers of varying abilities. As depicted in the photograph, the resource is set-up to follow the ‘What. Where. How. Why’ method of structuring analytical responses, developing previously learnt structures, and it consists of support questions and sentence starters to assist students at each stage of the writing process. On the back of the aid, there is also a glossary of vocabulary for students to use when writing.</p> <p>I have used these within my on classroom, laminating them and storing them within a pocket on the back of my door so that students can collect them (or be given them) when needed and so that they can be re-used without damage.</p> <p>Enjoy!</p>
