<p>This KS5 French listening exercise is ideal for Le Patrimoine unit. ’ Dijon, une ville fière de son patrimoine’, takes the listener on a visit to the capital of Burgundy and the home of the Dukes of Burgundy. Steeped in history and full of examples of different architechtural styles from many of the main periods of the past millenium, the centre of the town has been registered as a UNESCO world heritage site since July 2015.</p>

<p>This video shows you how to make a tartouillat, a speciality from the Burgundy region of France. The video is in simple French to aid with learning the vocabulary for the ingredients, equipment and method. The recipe can also be downloaded as a PDF which includes a table for translating the key words.</p>
<p>At Maison Claire Fontaine we run week long French language immersion experiences for UK schools. We are based in the rural French hamlet of Méluzien which is near to the town of Avallon in Burgundy. We are about 2.5 hours south of Paris. This recipe is one that we do with children who come to stay with us as part of a Maison Claire Fontaine ‘bake off’ challenge.</p>

<p>This powerpoint or video can be used to introduce your pupils to the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté in France. With the slides and commentary in French pupils find out where the region is on the map whilst also explaining the departmental numbering system. We explore the specialities of the region, talk about Dijon and Vézelay as places of interest to visit and also identify two famous people who were born in the region. There are questions at the end of each section with answers at the end of the presentation as well as reference to key words that have been identified during the slides.</p>
<p>Maison Claire Fontaine is situated in the rural hamlet of Méluzien , near the town of Avallon, in the department of Yonne in the region of Bourogogne Franche-Comté. Each week we welcome school groups from the UK to this beautiful part of France for a truly French experience.
