<p>These are the 2 first lessons of the Module on Celebrity and culture for the new French GCSE - Les célébrités.<br />
It covers the question: Qui est ta célébrité préférée ?Who is your favourite famous person?<br />
The grammar is about job titles and adjectives changing in Masculine and Feminine.<br />
This is used with Year 9 French mixed ability students following a module about films.<br />
We use the EPI teacher method in our lessons to encourage fluency and confidence.<br />
I used the AI website Pixlr to create the images - some of which students found strange.<br />
Some activities overlap to adapt depending on the teaching groups.</p>

<p>I’ve cut the answers off mine - you could cut these out separately and dot around the display so learners just have to match them up - or perhaps cover the names up.</p>

Students study a variety of speeches: (Braveheart's 'Freedom' speech; St Crispin's Day speech from Henry V; Churchill's 'Their Finest Hour' and 'Fight on the Beaches' speeches; Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, and Sojourner Truth's 'Ain't I A Woman?')<br />

British Culture Quiz Part 5<br />
A Jeopardy type game about Famous People. This is the fifth part of my Quiz on the UK series.<br />
20 slides with multiple choice questions. Team game.<br />
Activity designed to elicit use of the imperfect tense of the third person of Etre and adjectives. Instructions: 1.students are grouped in teams of three and given one mini board per group; 2. under time constraints they must come up with one or more adjectives to describe the famous (dead) person on teach given slide; 3. One point is awarded to the best description; 5. Students cannot use the same adjective more than once; 6 The team with the highest score wins.
A range of reading comprehensions linked to famous people, either currently or from a period of history including politicians, scientists and activists.
<p>This PPT introduces pupils to 8 different famous French people in history. Each person has a short text to describe them and pupils work together to translate each text.<br />
Pupils then use the attached cards to match the pictures to their descriptions.<br />
