KS4 Fitness booklet - Ever been doing a fitness lesson with KS4 students who just seem to lack motivation or direction?? I have!!! This is why I developed this KS4 fitness booklet, to try and direct my students without having to do a full fitness instructor style lesson as I would with KS3. The booklet includes a range of different training sessions that covers all parts of the body, it includes weight training for use on machines, it includes circuits training sessions each with a different focus, it includes a record sheet if students want to keep track of what they have done (or if you want to keep track of what they have done!), and it includes some more fun and possibly relevant challenges for those students who might even just want to go for a walk on a treadmill. Each of the sessions can be used independently in core lessons depending on your facilities available, or he full booklet could be used to guide fitness training programmes in exam based lessons. To make it more user friendly or adaptable I have included all of the sessions individually as well as in booklet format so you can choose whichever format works best for you or your school without any extra work. Our current use for them is we have a load of each of the individual session plans printed and in wall mounted holders, then our KS4 students can just pick them up in their lessons or after school and do a session completely independently based on a fitness method or component of fitness of their choice. Can also double as a unit of work doing a different session each lesson, or could be used with older KS3 students if facilities and behaviour allow for this.

Unit 2: Fitness training & programming for health, sport & well-being (LEVEL 3 BTEC SPORT)

Hello and thank you for reviewing my resources. Here is everything you will need to teach ‘Unit 2: Fitness training & programming for health, sport & well-being’ within the Perasons BTEC Sports Extended Diploma Level 3. My students have achieved merits and distinctions in their examination for this unit, after I have taught all content using these resources. I have planned this unit based on each question, so you will find 6 PowerPoint presentations, on each of the questions that are included in the examination. These are complemented with two work booklets, that should be printed off for students and they can complete as you are teaching the lessons. These booklets will be a great tool for students when they are revising for the exam. Each lesson will start off with a low-stakes quiz based on the previous lesson. The questions have been pre-planned and included in the work booklets for students to complete. This is a great teaching and learning technique to adopt prior to the exam, as all content will be reconsolidated and embedded within the long-term memory of students. Two student workbooklets, 6 powerpoints, Low stakes quizzes to prepare for the exam, Exam preperation questions, Plenary opportunity, Case-studies, Stretch and challenge opportunities for pupils to access the higher grades. EXAM QUESTIONS: Interpret the lifestyle factors and screening information. Provide lifestyle modification techniques. Provide and justify your nutritional guidance for to meet their specific requirements. Propose and justify different training methods that meet training needs. Design weeks 1, 3 and 6 of a 6-week fitness training programme. Justify the fitness training programme that you have designed. **

AQA GCSE PE - fitness testing booklet

This resource includes all of the fitness tests for AQA GCSE PE. For each test, it outlines the procedure, the equipment needed and the unit of measurement. Each test also includes normative data. There is room for students to record their fitness test results up to three times, this is ideal for a practical fitness testing lesson, students can then keep this in their folders to assist them with future revision or completion of coursework, when they may wish to refer to their fitness testing results. It also makes it very easy for students to work independently throughout a practical fitness testing lesson, as they have all of the information needed. I have found this works best if printed as an A5 stapled document.
