This Powerpoint identifies the skills and qualities required to be a good sports leader. The modules cover Core Values and Qualities of a Sports Leader. Planning a Sports Session. Managing Pupil Behaviour. Motivating Participants. Creating a Session Plan. Role of the Official. What contributes to a Healthy LifeStyle. I put together this power point and have used it successfully for many years while delivering the Sports Leaders Level 1 and 2 Award. The majority of students who have successfully gained the qualification have displayed social & emotional difficulties, Special Educational Needs and behaviour difficulties, or they are very passionate about playing sport. The award has enabled them to develop personal confidence and self esteem, improve their communication skills, both verbal and non verbal and increase their fitness and health. Each module is broken down and explained in detail, so that each students fully understands the skills and qualities of a positive sports leader. I was observed by OFSTED during a school inspection and the feedback I got from them was excellent. If you do purchase this Power Point, please do leave feedback.

Leadership Styles - Demographic, Autocratic, Paternalistic & Laissez-Faire - Business Studies Lesson

(1)
A great lesson on teaching four of the main leadership styles in the world of business. There is clear theory on the importance of a good leader and how that can influence how businesses and companies are run. There is detailed theory on the pros and cons of demographic, autocratic, paternalistic and laissez-faire leaders. I have included examples for each type of leader. The lesson starts with a great leadership quiz, this will determine what type of leader each student is (I like to do a tally of the results on the board and see which type of leader is the most common). I like to refer back to the leadership quiz throughout the lesson after each type of leader is properly covered and see if students agree with their results. I have also included a nice task where students need to vote the leadership styles of famous entrepreneurs. The lesson finishes with a task where students need to read different scenarios and vote which type of leader would be best and explain why. Perfect for GCSE Business Studies.

Leadership Assembly!

This fun and original assembly aims to assist children in understanding the value of effective leadership, through: -Understanding what leadership is and recognising why it is important (with the help of a funny, purposeful video, which is hyperlinked into the presentation); -Finding out about great leaders and their achievements from across history and in the modern day; -Demonstrating the power of leadership through an engaging and powerful ‘blindfold challenge’ game; -Looking at everyday activities and considering which require effective leadership skills; -Understanding how and why leadership can be important in school, and thinking about how they would use teamwork in different scenarios; -Ending with a hymn about leadership. This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. It is comprehensive (26 slides in total) and the slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. For example, there are references to scenarios and dilemmas that they themselves might find themselves in order to help them to make the right choices in their own lives. No further resources are required except a blindfold for the challenge activity - everything else that you need to present the assembly is included. The assembly presentation is fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker just in case. Hope that you find this useful!
