Metals & Me has been created to support the teaching of geography for 11-16 year olds. The project supports a number of curriculum and syllabus requirements and can be used to encourage debate and understanding of key issues in Citizenship and Education for Sustainable Development.

KS1 Narrative Unit on Pirates and Mermaids. Year 2 and Year 1 English Curriculum. This has been adapted to suit year 1 children or year 2 children who are working below the expected standard (SEN or EAL). The unit is designed to help children repeat, pre-teach vocabulary, over teach sentence structure, match words, sort sentences into order and sequence, play vocabulary games, and much more. It should allow children for improved independence by the end of the unit. Geographical enquiry is now firmly established in the geography curriculum, at least on paper. Despite, however, having being given a prominent place in curriculum documents there is still evidence that it is not yet been fully adopted in schools. The Action Plan for Geography seeks to address these issues and in the last few years' progress has been made in making improvements to the curriculum. The focus on &'curriculum making&'; and revisions to the curriculum provide increased opportunities to develop more enquiry based learning in geography which can be initiated through PGCE courses.

Poems Graphic Organizer. Using the acronym POEMS, this poetry graphic organizer allows students to show what they already know about poetry and poetic devices, including figurative language such as personification, onomatopoeia, metaphors, and similes. This field study encourages students to act as environmental scientists to compare two heathlands one of which has been grazed, one of which hasn’t. The pupils will use the data collected to decide which heathland is better in terms of the plant species present and soil chemistry.

This integrated unit allows students to conduct scientific experiments, construct aircraft models, and read selections and research topics about aviation. The 23 lessons in this guide support national math, science, technology, geography and language arts standards. The lessons have built-in assessment opportunities.
