Over 30 team building and outdoor adventurous activities for that can be used within the PE curriculum and for both student and staff team building workshops. I have been creating and adding to these over the last 7 years to provide a wide range of fun and creative tasks that have a strong emphasis on problem solving and teamwork. I have used them within my PE lessons as part of an OAA unit of work, with my form groups at the start of the year, with A level students to develop teamwork, with staff as part of a full team building day and i also delivered these to fellow professionals at a PE conference. This resource offers two engaging Cooperative Learning activities to be used with whole classes offering pupils the opportunity to collaborate, take responsibility for their learning, develop communicate, and improve sending and receiving skills. Cooperative Learning links five key elements in all the activities: Positive Independence, Face to Face Interaction, Individual Accountability, Interpersonal Skills, and Group Processing. Each activity outlines clear group goals, differentiation through the STEP principle, team challenges, and challenge tasks to extend learning.

I have used this activity many times with a range of students of all ages and it always works well. I have recently updated the style of it. Working in groups or pairs, one learner will describe the origami instructions to the other learner/s, the other learners will make the origami which is being described to them. The learners making the origami will not get to see what they are making which means the ones doing the describing really have to work on their communication skills, At the end of the task they can reflect on how well the task went. This is a fun activity which works on team building and communication skills. You will need to provide square pieces of paper to your learners for this task. For best results and to stop having to reprint, I recommend laminating the origami instructions! This activity can last as long as you want it to last, I usually let the students take turns in being the instructor or the maker. This is the washing machine game - pupils make washing machine using a paper net. They have to work in teams to design, produce and sell their washing machines. The aim is to make the most profit. Pupils start with 15 counters, purchase equipment and sell washing machines for counters. This game wasn’t designed by me but I have adapted and put together the powerpoint using AI technology to talk you through playing this game successfully. An excellent end of term activity. Endless fun can take one hour, two hours even all day. Included: Detailed powerpoint and instructions Washing Machine Net (included on last slide of powerpoint) My children played this all day!

This is an entire lesson for an egg parachute team building activity. You can change the resources to suit your own needs. In this activity learners will work together to construct a parachute for an egg (Boiled preferably but you can also use chocolate eggs or plastic eggs) The parachute must softly land to the floor and the egg must not crack. Its a great activity to get learners working together and there is usually an element of competition to have the best parachute. A great resource for any PE or Duke of Edinburgh leader, to encourage interpersonal skill, leadership development and teamwork. 21 different activities for teachers/students to lead, with aims, objectives, equipment, instructions and differentiation (easier and more challenging) that will target any age group.

A fantastic back to school or end of year activity which is ideal for welcoming students back from lockdown and starting to rebuild community. It is a team activity which can easily be undertaken by students while meeting the requirements of social distancing and there is a reminder to so at the beginning of each team round. It is a 61 question, animated, interactive team quiz with built – in scoreboard for up to seven teams. All questions are pictorial and multiple choice. A wide range of general knowledge questions and tasks are included. As well as asking a question, a lot of slides also provide some interesting snippets about the topic so pupils are expanding their general knowledge as well as enjoying the activity. Topics include: geography history nature science music astrology astronomy flags of the world famous people famous landmarks current affairs Team Rounds Each team will attempt their general knowledge team round of three questions. The answer to each question must be decided by the whole team. If a wrong answer is given, the next question goes to the first hand up and, if correct, that person’s team get to try the rest of the round. Each team will also have to solve the clues to identify a well - known phrase or saying. There are four lightning rounds in which team members consult to try to identify a slowly revealed person or landmark. Memory Test – questions on the order and detail of eleven objects which cross the screen then disappear. Individual Rounds Four unscramble and identify rounds which consists of a picture which has been cut up and rearranged. Memory Test – give coordinates of fish which have moved around a pond. Finally, the fifteen - question individual bonus round. This round allows flexibility in terms of the time the quiz takes as not all the questions have to be attempted.
