Would you rather...? Comparing fractions of amounts

(0)
A PowerPoint presentation and activity suitable for Year 4 (or revision for Y5) on finding and comparing unit and non-unit fractions of amounts (money and measures). Start the lesson with a practical demonstration showing how to find fractions of amounts of money and water (use different sized bottles filled with coloured water). To answer the ppt questions, the children need to work out fractions of amounts themselves and choose the larger amount of money/ water. MA and HA children can then complete tasks A and B. A = unit fractions B= non-unit fractions They will need existing knowledge of equivalent fractions (1/2 for MA, 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 for HA) in order to answer the challenge questions at the end. LA can continue to use water bottles and measuring jugs and carry out a practical investigation to find fractions of amounts of water.

I’ll be creating more prompt mats to cover other areas of punctuation and grammar. Is this a comprehensive list of what to make? -end of sentence punctuation, punc direct speech, commas, apostrophes, pronouns, verb/ subject agreement, tense, sentence openers, extending sentences with conjunctions, check your spelling guide…any more? Thank you!
