Focus on recognition and use of 3 tenses.
Leads up to an unseen writing assessment task (aiming to prepare pupils more for the requirements of the new GCSE as opposed to memorising for controlled assessment).
Some powerpoints are 1 lesson, some are 2 or 3.

5 weeks worth of lessons on the topic of school, prior to task-setting for a written controlled assessment.
-Audit of prior knowledge (basic vocab)
-Giving opinions (basic and GCSE)
-Talking about compulsory and optional subjects in England and France.
-The school day in England and France (revising telling the time)
-School uniform
-Direct object pronouns
-School rules
-Future plans in the near future tense, future tense, and with si clauses.
Comprehension Qs then find various features, in an account of work placement.
Produced for a high ability Year 10 group.
Had just revised the perfect tense ready to write their own account of work placement the following week.

Culminates in a speaking assessment with 5 questions to prepare and learn.

Description of 8 traditioanl French dishes to match to their names.
Pupils will need to research the food items in order to work it out.
Builds up to pupils writing their own paragraph to describe a food item.
Aim to develop comprehension skills and learn some new vocabulary whilst gaining cultural knowledge about French food.
Lesson aimed at developing dictionary skills prior to writing Controlled Assessment.
The aim is for pupils to know what type of words they are looking up, and to be able to use verb tables correctly to avoid handing in work peppered with infinitives.
All examples are the Oxford School French Dictionary as this is what our pupils use in exams.
The conjugation game on the last slide was sent to me by a colleague who found it on TES - you may need to search for it to get a clearer copy than my screeshot.
Resources for able Y9 groups using Expo 3 Rouge, working on the topic 'L'avenir'.

Powerpoints aimed at very high ability KS4 working towards a controlled assessment on Healthy Living.
I will add each week's resources as I get to them.
-Week 1 - present tense, advanced negatives, pronouns y and en.
-Week 2 - food groups, nutrition, describing different foods (EXT: bien que + subjunctive). (JUST ADDED: Guess the food reading which I had missed off before.)
-Week 3 - sports and exercise - using jouer and faire in a range of tenses (+ time phrases)
-Week 4 - imperfect tense. How your lifestyle differed in the past
- Week 4b - Mauvaises habitudes. Opinions of smoking and alcohol.
-Week 5 - Giving advice for a healthy lifestyle (with il faut, on doit, il est important de) (EXT: il faut que + subjunctive)

I have added a checklist for pupils to self assess when preparing their draft (C grade and A grade version).
The documents entitled "Revision" are helpsheets for pupils to refer to when producing written work.

French Christmas traditions activity for the end of term.
To be done as a treasure hunt / kind of running dictation activity.
Powerpoint slides printed 2 per sheet, cut up and stuck around classroom walls.
Grid between 2-3 pupils. I pupil at a time per team can get up and look at the pictures, bringing back information (the French caption) to fill in the grid.

Then introduces rest of aller, and focuses on je vais + infinitive for writing a timeline of future plans at different ages.
