27 lesson Oliver Twist SOW covering the whole novel. Incorporates a combination of Reading and Writing Learning Objectives. Non-fiction sources provided to study alongside reading of novel. Chapter summary sheet provided. Victorian poverty resources included- I printed these on coloured paper, laminated them and kept on 'enable table' throughout this unit for pupils to refer to for context.

An extract based exam question for Romeo and Juliet - How does Shakespeare present the theme of death? Uses extract from Act 5 Key word list and key quotations showing death from across play

A Macbeth worksheet using I do We do You do structure to help guide students towards writing a full GCSE essay on the theme of the supernatural. Thesis and three ‘big ideas’ already written for students + one full model paragraph linked to the first idea. There is room for students and teacher to complete We Do together for the second idea, before students independently plan and complete the third on the final page.

A full marks response for AQA Language Paper 1 Q4 using an extract from Stave 1 of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’. Response both agrees and disgarees with parts of the statement.

An article written for language paper 2 Q5 as an exemplar to show students. Written in response to a statement about gender equality, the task asked students to write an article to argue that we have not yet reached true equality.

A grade 9 example answer to the AQA Paper 1 Q5 from November 2018. Describe a time 200 years in the future.

14 lesson poetry SOW for KS3, themed around 'Culture and Identity. LOs focused on language and structure analysis, as well as how to construct a comparison of two poems and how to independently write a response to a poem. Poem booklet and non fiction sources included in pack.

A model response for AQA Language Paper 2 Q4 (comparison) Used with my top set- roughly level 7 response. Compares two non fiction texts themed around disease (see my other resources for copy of the mock paper) using an account of the Black Death and an article about Ebola.
