A Macbeth worksheet using I do We do You do structure to help guide students towards writing a full GCSE essay on the theme of the supernatural. Thesis and three ‘big ideas’ already written for students + one full model paragraph linked to the first idea. There is room for students and teacher to complete We Do together for the second idea, before students independently plan and complete the third on the final page.

An example answer for a non-fiction writing question about education, arguing that education is power. Great for sharing with students and asking them to write their own example for alternative viewpoint.

An article written for language paper 2 Q5 as an exemplar to show students. Written in response to a statement about gender equality, the task asked students to write an article to argue that we have not yet reached true equality.

I produced these resources to use as part of an 'enable table' during a lesson about poverty for Dickens' A Christmas Carol. There are four information sheets (education, sanitation, workhouses and employment) with accompanying images. I printed and laminated them on 4 different coloured papers and left on the enable table for More Able pupils to use as a way of meeting AO3 for the new Lit GCSE. Would work well when used as an 'investigate'/carousel lesson, or alternatively on classroom displays.

A knowledge organiser for AQA’s Power and Conflict cluster. Contains key quotations for each poem, contextual notes, key themes and comparative words and phrases. There are also definitions for various language/structure/form subject terminology. Can be printed and laminated for tables, glued into books at start of topic, or given to Y11 for revision.

A variety of lessons for AQA Language Paper 1 and Paper 2 Q5s. Inspired by various poems in the Power and Conflict cluster. Lessons cover fiction writing and non-fiction. These were used with my top set Y10 (target grades ranging between 5 and 9).
