Exploring Your Memories through your senses - Trauma Informed Activities

(0)
This “Exploring your Memories” through your senses is a mindful, trauma-informed workbook which allows the student to write a new memory on each page and explore their senses in relation to that memory. For example, what they saw, heard, smelt, tasted and/or touched. This is a great book for the students to keep handy on days/times where they might need a positive and constructive reminder of all of the great things that they have experienced. In addition to each memory, there are a variety of feelings and emotions explored as well as an opportunity to record the memory in writing and/or in drawing. I tried it! - Fussy Eating, New Food Trial Checklist/Program, Speech Therapy

(0)
This resource includes a record for new foods that you want to try. Trying new foods can be scary for some people so this book takes a mindful and progressive desensitization approach making every little step towards your goal matter! Each individual sheet works on a specific food that you want to try. Simply record the food in the left hand corner of the page where there is an allocated text box. There is an additional Tip Sheet which includes strategies to increase the range of foods. There is a table included with many different emotions and feelings that you can explore with someone close to you. The table encourages you to isolate what you are feeling before you try the foods. This is very important because we know that when we acknowledge and validate feelings it makes it easier to achieve goals. Another table is included where either dates or ticks can be included as your child or student progresses towards their end goal. The stages include 1. smelling it 2. touching it 3. touching the food with your lips 4. touching the food with your tongue 5. chewing the food 6. swallowing the food. Breaking down each individual task makes this a whole lot more manageable! Try to keep this light and fun for your child and recognize every little bit of progress! There is an example of one completed page should you require a reference or example. This is a great speech therapy resource which has been a great program and handout to provide to families who want to support their child around fussy eating and trialling new food. Positive Affirmation Cards - Growth Mindset, Positve Self Talk, Social Emotional

The great thing about these cards is that they are versatile! You are literally only limited by your imagination. There are 56 cards in total and they support students to cultivate positive self talk, social emotional development as well as a growth and positive mindset. This resource includes numerous ways to utilize these cards. For example, print each of them out and put the in a jar. At the start of each day get each student to pick one from the jar randomly! They can place that on their desk for the day! You can use these cards on an individual, pair, group or whole class approach. For example as a group, you could choose one and ask the group members one of the following questions… When would have been a time that this affirmation would have been important for you to hear? Why? Who could use this affirmation today? Why? If you could give this affirmation to anyone who would you give it to? Why? These have been a great asset to my toolkit and the students response has been overwhelmingly positive! We hope you enjoy using them as much as we do! Firstly, children must understand how to draw the basic shapes (i.e. circle, diagonal, straight line etc) as these help form the basis of letters.
