We sell unique, child friendly teaching resources to give children back their love of learning. Education has become very test driven, with many resources in a 'test format' . This can become very uninspiring for learners and be a cause for lack of motivation and enthusiasm. At Applefortheteacher, we create teaching resources to give children the skills they need academically, socially and emotionally, whilst encouraging that important 'love of learning'. Inspiring learners to thrive!

These fantastic worksheets support children in forming letters in the standard uncursive form. Many children struggle with the cursive writing and go through school with writing which is unreadable. These are a great tool to support children in producing legible writing in an uncursive form, suitable for EYFS, KS1 and learners with SEN who struggle to remember how to form letters. Each letter of the alphabet contains a lower case and an upper case letter and also a sheet with both to put the letters together in a short phrase. A great resource to support letter formation.
This is a brilliant, engaging game for young learners. Remember the game of writing a word and folding your paper over then passing to a partner to write the next part? Or is that just me? This is a similar game to that (instructions are included). This game has been tried and tested with many children, children in Year 1, Year 2 and children higher up in KS2 who find sentence building difficult. After playing this game a few times, the pieces begin to fit together. Why make it difficult? Putting the love in learning, we put the children at the centre of everything we create…
These are great sheets which I have used with a range of learners, including learners with Special Educational Needs who were not able to write. They signed/verbalised their caption for an adult to write down word for word. A great assessment tool for all learners to show their level of understanding. Can also be used for children to write their own captions for EYFS, KS1 and KS2. A fabulous resource to inspire creative writing and thoughts.
This is a lovely activity focusing on sports objects. Learners who are beginning with counting who find writing and forming shapes a challenge with Special Educational Needs, can access this resource to assess their knowledge and understanding. By counting the objects and recording using dots or dashes in the space provided, it allows learners to evidence and evaluate their answers. A great tool to promote independence and maths recording of children with difficulties in this area.
This is a great activity for SEN learners to build their knowledge of the things around them. Using a mixture of photographs and illustrations, this is a tried and tested matching activity to relate the image to the real object. This is a great bundle of comprehension activities for children who are not able to write legibly, but are able to read. In order to assess reading and comprehension skills we need to check their understanding. These activities are brilliant for doing just that. The activities encourage children read the story / instructions and then find the sentences/pictures to stick in the correct places to show the answers. Other sheets encourage looking at pictures or reading information to find clues and children can make a mark on the answers they believe to be correct.
A great activity for children with Special Educational Needs who find writing a struggle.
This is a great activity to do with learners on their return from the summer holidays, when starting in a new class. It is also a great speaking and listening activity.
Print out on card or laminate them, cut them out and let the children ask away in their groups or pairs. All the questions are the types that children can relate to, allowing them to find out about each other.

This is a great selection of resources to support learners in KS1 with comprehension. Focusing on the topic of Traditional Tales, this collection has a story of Ben and the Sunflower, this is a different take on the story Jack and the Beanstalk. Children can watch the story on a powerpoint presentation, because this is so visual it helps them to relate to the story and discussions can be had whilst reading the story to a group of children. There are different levels of comprehensions available to download in this pack, which allow children to answer questions all about the story they have just observed. Each comprehension is designed to suit the different levels and needs of children so there are 3 to choose from and a story sequencing activity. Other traditional story powerpoints and comprehensions (with a difference) are available to download separately from TES and from our website applefortheteacher.co.uk.
