Coloured and black & white printable versions!
There are 3 sets of cut-and-paste activities, each with 8 fraction pairs. Each fraction pair contains a mixed fraction and an improper fraction to match (either cut and paste, drawing lines between each equation and its solution, or otherwise). An answer key is also included. This can be used for stage 4 students learning or revising converting between mixed fractions and improper fractions.
This activity caters to the new NSW math syllabus for 2024, meeting part of the first dot point of MA4-FRC-C-01:
• ‘Examine methods of generating equivalent fractions’
As well as the Australian Curriculum for year 7: Real Numbers - ACMNA152:
• ‘Compare fractions using equivalence. Locate and represent positive and negative fractions and mixed numbers on a number line’
Includes 3 pages of Activity + Answer key
Colour and BW versions included
Get your students working together with a collaborative poster, especially at the end of a unit! This poster of a mushroom lady is coloured for autumn / fall and is coded with questions on negative integers.
The poster is 24 pieces (when printed on A4 paper, each piece is 14 cm x 14 cm). Each piece has a coordinate in the top left corner to help with assembly.
The colours for the poster have been assigned, except for the background, which is a free choice for students. There are five colours for autumn / fall (red, light brown, dark brown, orange and yellow), labelled 1-5. To work out which colour matches each number a question involving negative integers is presented, with answers matching 1-5. There are 6 sets of the 5 questions.
How it works:
Students will colour their assigned piece, cut it out, and then assemble their pieces with their classmates. Stick them together and display in the classroom.
The final poster measures approximately 56 cm x 84 cm.
This indices worksheet has 31 questions with the subtopics of
establishing index laws
the zero index
There are PDF and word versions of the indices activity. The PDF version splits the questions and answers on separate PDFs and the word version contains all the questions and answers in the one document.
This worksheet caters to the new NSW math syllabus for 2024, meeting parts of the first dot point of IND-C-01:
‘Establish that x^0=1 algebraically using index laws’
‘Simplify algebraic expressions that involve the zero index’

Explanation and step-by-step instructions on how to calculate problems with angles of elevation and depression, both the angles and the side lengths.
There are 3 worked examples. Answers included on the last page.
This is a linear relationships activity sheet consisting of a matching game between coordinate pairs, gradients, distances and mid-points, with answers.
Each coordinate pair, gradient, midpoint and distance length are in separate squares that may be cut out or just coloured in, in order to pair them together.
There are 4 sets of matching coordinate pair, gradient, distance length and mid-point.
This is a linear relationships activity sheet asking students to compare the length of two pathways using the distance formula. The two pathways (comprised of multiple coordinates) lead to a treasure chest.
Fully worked answers are included.
6 sets of ‘cards’ that include:
A word problem (on angles of elevation and angles of depression)
A picture representing the word problem
The answer to the word problem
There are 18 ‘cards’ in total, in addition to an answer key (each set coloured is coloured a different colour).
The ‘cards’ are in a random order, so it is not necessary to cut them all out - colouring, the ‘cards’ differently, or otherwise, is enough for students to match the 3 pieces of each set.
A basic trigonometry worksheet for those learning to use the sin, cos, and tan ratios to find the length of an unknown side (15Q) or the degrees of an unknown angle (10Q).
Each question comprises a diagram of a triangle with all the relevant information.
Fully worked answers to all questions are included.
