Ppt presentation I created to collate some fun tried and tested activities to teach the perfect tense to KS4 students. It can be easily adapted to any ability group due to the nature of the activities. It provides an explanation of what it is (uses), time indicators, formation (endings) and main irregular forms. It then includes 4 different activities: a basic sentence translation activity, a never have I ever task to get your students standing up and down depending on whether they’ve done a number of things (18 in total), a differentiated die activity to do in pairs to conjugate verbs in the perfect tense or take it a bit further and ask each other questions based on the given verbs, and finally a list of 26 things students might have or might have not done before they finish school, to practise “ya” and “aun no”. This resource includes a ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 10 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created some resources to combine with working on the textbook. What you will find on this ppt is: types of accommodation; facilities (using habia, tenia); adjectives to describe the accommodation & facilities (using era); location phrases (using estaba en); some authentic hotel reviews for students to work on positives and negatives; a listening activity (teacher led) based on Conti’s technique faulty echo; a speaking and a writing activity to put it all into practice. On my online shop you will find most of the textbook topics belonging to this spec.

It includes a number of extra resources (grammar and reading comp., among others) that I created as the textbook doesn’t offer a lot. This sub-unit consolidates opinions, days of the week and verb conjugations in the present tense, all covered in modules 2.1 to 2.3. AQA AS La influencia de los idolos - 2 very original worksheets for year 12

Two worksheets inspired on the AQA A-level Spanish textbook, Unit 4 La Influencia de los Idolos, but which can be adapted to any textbook. Worksheet 1 contains 5 tweets / instagram posts posted by Hispanic celebrities which contain several grammatical errors, to be spotted by the students. Each post comes with a range of follow up questions based on their post to encourage students to talk in the target language. Great activity for speaking. Worksheet 2 contains a reading I created based on a youtube video with information on the most famous female youtuber in South America: Yuya. It offers follow up questions for discussion, grammar activities, comprehension activities and vocabulary exercises. Bundle also includes a short taboo game with Hispanic celebrities that the students need to describe trying to avoid the taboo words (they are given suggested keywords to support their descriptions).

With this resource, students will be reinforcing common grammatical points they get mixed up: personal pronouns: s/he, we, they high frequency reflexives, stem-changing verbs and irregular verbs verbs in the 1st and 3rd person, singular and plural por/para ser/estar preterite, present, future & conditional haber, ser & tener in the 3rd person singular Answers included; some boards require students not only to highlight but also to write the correct answer (e.g. in por/para). A popular resource among my students, as it’s an alternative way of doing revision for which you just need a bunch of different highlighters.
