The PowerPoint and handouts accompany a teaching video I made on the Humanistic Approach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9Z9gVjmNsI. The PowerPoint contains everything for a full 16 mark question on the Humanistic Approach. The PowerPoint follows the structure for the essay. There are some YouTube videos embedded (see notes section for links, and/or hover over the pictures) to help understanding of the Humanistic Approach. It contains A01, A02 and A03 materials to cover everything for the exam and activities for students to do during class to help consolidation of learning. I reference all my handouts in the header which is why the handouts are labelled below: AP09 - a handout of an article from the Guardian with questions to emphasize ‘Conditions of Worth’. AP10 - a booklet for students to complete at home to help consolidation of learning. AP11 - a short answer test (10 minutes recommended) for the start of the next lesson. AP11a - the answer sheet for the short answer test NB I usually have my margins on ‘narrow’ for Word documents. I presume when you download them this will be automatic, but if the formatting seems a bit off, change the margins to narrow and it should be fine.

The files include posters for a ‘Psychflix’ display. For each film or box-set there is a short description, the units it links to for A level Psychology and a QR code which takes the student to a trailer for the film or an article. (To scan the QR codes, just open the camera on your phone and point it at the code; most phones will pick up the code and take you straight the link). There are some ‘stretch and challenge’ questions so that students can watch the films while considering an issue such as ‘free will-determinism’ and challenge themselves to answer the questions. Psychflix: I got the font online (it allows you to print off single words) and then printed it out on A3 paper. I cut out the letters and glued them to black card. I then stapled this onto the notice board. YOU WILL NEED BLACK BACKING PAPER FOR YOUR NOTICE BOARD AND A STAPLE GUN. I also think it will be great for open evenings as it looks striking and is a good talking point. I have made a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the exam. This is the 1st set. I have made a video to accompany this exam paper showing students how to ‘decode’ the stimulus. The stimulus for this paper is an experiment testing the difference in mood between teachers who play on dance mats for 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks and those that don’t. The exam paper tests: Sampling Limitation of a volunteer sample Hypothesis Direction Hypothesis Writing Pilot Study Control of Extraneous Variables Interpretation of descriptive statistics Justification of a Mann Whitney test Testing for Significance using Critical Values Tables Peer Review Limitation of Peer Review Type 1 Error Aims of a Debrief Design a study (12 marks) Please note that the design a study for this first set is designed to be very much like the stimulus. In the other unofficial exam papers I have written, the design a study sections are a different research method to the one in the stimulus, however, because this is the first set, this one is slightly easier in that it is asking the students to design a study similar to the original, but on students. It does have elements they will need to consider carefully, like how to ensure each participant acts as their control, which obviously has implications for the experimental design they will choose). The mark scheme is comprehensive and should allow for peer marking. It includes a model answer for the 12 mark design a study question. This display is made for FE colleges but would also work well in secondary schools. There are 21 posters of people who are in the LGBTQIA+ community linked to different academic fields. These match A levels and BTEC subjects that are taught in school/FE There is some information about their achievements as well as some information about their experiences of being LGBT+. Some posters have QR codes that take them to further reading or videos. The posters are in a PowerPoint. Print the PowerPoint as FULL SLIDES (one side only printing) and then either cut off the outside white frame, or use a guillitine. The PowerPoint is in the order that I have made the display. The posters are designed to be in rows of 7 (3 x rows of 7) and are in the colours of the rainbow. See the photo attached to this for how it looks overall. I made the display for a mobile display board (it is split into 3 sections for ease of moving,) but would work well on one large display board. The lettering should also be printed as full page slides, AND THEN BLOWN UP FROM A4 TO A3. The word document has the large versions of some of the poeple with their quote in a speech bubble. They are in order. I have put the names on the word document too. Cut the lettering out and pin to the board. Cut the white frame from the PowerPoint slides and pin to the board (i have put them in the order in which I pinned them to the board, so Slide 1 is first, to the right of that is slide 2, to the right of that is slide 3 etc to slide 7, then the next row has slides 8-14, and the last row has slides 15-21). Cut the people out from the word document with their speech bubbles and pin to the board. Please would also cut out my name on the last slide and attach to the display at the bottom. It has QR codes to my twitter and YouTube accounts. Many thanks. The other word document contains the references. All images used were either free from wikipedia, or I asked the people for their permission.

The stimulus includes information a football manager’s decision to ban his squad from playing video games while on a football tour because of their ‘addictive’ nature. The players use diaries to report their experiences. The PowerPoint is designed to be taught during lesson time and should take between 3-4 hours.
