AQA: P1: Q2 / Q5: Frankenstein: Mini-mock 'One Sheets' (plus resource mats + writing strips!)

A stimulating and relevant ‘mini-mock’ style resource that can be used for Paper 1, Q2/Q5: This is particularly useful as a ‘walkthrough’ task that helps pupils understand the skills that are needed to answer this question. If you use it this way, I tend to follow this structure: #1 - Read the extract. Find out the meanings of any unfamiliar vocabulary and add these to the accompanying ‘word bank’ (10 minutes - 20 minutes) #2 - Complete the discussion tasks (S&L opportunity) and read the accompanying articles (15 - 20 minutes) #3 - Annotate the extract for gothic conventions and language devices (10-15 minutes) #4 - Discuss the reading question and read a pupil’s response. Get your pupils to mark it with regards to a WWW/EBI! (10 minutes) #5 - Pupils will construct their own response - Use the FREE reading scaffold sheets to help you! Differentiated by outcome (15 -20 minutes) This is a brief outline - These sheets contain at least a week’s worth of work! The second ‘one sheet’ covers an ‘AQA-style’ writing question with a twist! Pupils will love it. Use the FREE writing mat to help support pupil progress. Please leave a review! :-) I’ll email you a free resource of your choice!
