A ‘mini-mock’ style resource that can be used for Paper 1, Q2: This is particularly useful as a ‘walkthrough’ task that helps pupils understand the skills that are needed to answer this question. If you use it this way, I tend to follow this structure: Worksheet (engages/helps pupils access the extract)- 10 minutes. Watch (Helps pupils further contextualise the extract)- 5 minutes. Read/discuss (Pupils to underline any ‘interesting’ language)- 5 minutes. Annotate (pupils to complete task #1, teacher guidance as appropriate)- 10 minutes. Read/SPAG (pupils to complete task #2, a ‘paragraph guide’ for pupils!)- 10 minutes. Own (Pupils to complete task #3, if extension is needed get pupils to continue this in their books!)- 10 minutes. Conclusions (discuss/read out work and the focus of the overall lesson)- 5 minutes. Please leave a review! :-) I’ll email you a free resource of your choice!
