A ‘mini-mock’ style resource that can be used for Paper 1, Q2: This is particularly useful as a ‘walkthrough’ task that helps pupils understand the skills that are needed to answer this question. If you use it this way, I tend to follow this structure: Worksheet (engages/helps pupils access the extract)- 10 minutes. Watch (Helps pupils further contextualise the extract)- 5 minutes. Read/discuss (Pupils to underline any ‘interesting’ language)- 5 minutes. Annotate (pupils to complete task #1, teacher guidance as appropriate)- 10 minutes. Read/SPAG (pupils to complete task #2, a ‘paragraph guide’ for pupils!)- 10 minutes. Own (Pupils to complete task #3, if extension is needed get pupils to continue this in their books!)- 10 minutes. Conclusions (discuss/read out work and the focus of the overall lesson)- 5 minutes. Please leave a review! :-) I’ll email you a free resource of your choice! (1)
An exciting and engaging resource that will help support the skills needed to teach P2, Q5. Particular reference is made to writing an effective article; you can however tweak this as appropriate! Perfect as an ‘inspiring’ and thought provoking lesson that will enable pupils to connect with their learning: This resource can be used between KS3-4 and is a perfect introduction or revision tool for ‘article’ writing and P2, Q5. This includes: -A reflective and guided article annotation engager that will help pupils connect with the lesson’s content. -A number of scaffolded tasks which increasingly ask pupils to consider the skills necessary for P2, Q5. -A unique and interesting video resource (find the link in the powerpoint!) that drives the lesson forward.
