This is a play script for William Shakespeare’s Hamlet written to be suitable for ages 9 to 14. Hamlet tells the story of a Prince whose father, the King, has just died. His father’s ghost visits him and tells him that the new King, Claudius – who has married his mother – was the killer. Hamlet wants revenge and the story follows a bloody path in which he takes revenge but loses his own life, and the life of the woman he loves – Ophelia. The play script is a mix of modern English with some of the famous lines from the real play mixed in as well. I hope you enjoy it – good luck! There are 15 speaking roles but parts for up to 30 students. The language is a mix of Shakespearean and more modern English. Ideal for theatre performances or plays, reading activities or guided reading sessions. A Christmas Carol (A School Remix) tells the story of a mean, old headmaster, Ebenizer Loops, who runs a dark and miserable school. The teachers are under-paid and over-worked, and the students are not allowed to smile or have fun. It is Christmas eve and his best worker, Bob Bamboo asks for the day off to spend time with his family, and sick child – Petite Pat. Loops almost refuses but decides to just dock his pay for the day. Then, that evening he gets a visit from the previous headmaster – another miserable person called Mr Frown. Mr Frown tells him he needs to change his ways or end up with the same fate as him; he tells him how he will be visited by three ghosts that night. The ghosts visit and show Loops various things that upset him enough to change his ways. After the visits of the ghosts Loops wakes up on Christmas day a changed man and tries to put right all the wrongs he has caused over the previous decades! There are song recommendations throughout the script, with a mixture of traditional Christmas songs and modern songs. There are 19 speaking parts, with additional non-speaking roles for up to 30 students too. I hope you have fun with it, my class had a ball! If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. A great digital research and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of World War 2. Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. There are 42 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the rise of Adolf Hitler in Germany to the dropping of atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the timeline display and sorting activity and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Slides document and save it in your Google Drive. The research and sorting activity is differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower-level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers. This is a play script for William Shakespeare’s Richard III written to be suitable for ages 9-14. Richard III tells the story of Richard – a humpbacked member of the royal family who had a deep desire to be king. However, he was fifth in line to the throne with four close family members ahead of him. The play follows the story of his murderous journey to the top, and his eventual demise to Henry at the Battle of Bosworth. The play script is a mix of modern English with some of the famous lines from the real play mixed in as well. I hope you enjoy it – good luck! There are 20 speaking roles with parts for up to 30 students. The language is a mix of Shakespearean and modern English. A great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to Anne Frank and some of the key events of World War 2. There are 42 posters or cards that include many of the key events from her life and some from the Second World War. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Anne Frank. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
