David Matthew Baker's Primary Shop

Average Rating4.34
(based on 59 reviews)

I'm currently training as a Primary Teacher so making a wide range of resources using a variety of programmes including ActivInspire and Smart Notebook. My shop also has some of my past resources that I made during my time as a Special Needs Support Assistant. I am also a Cub Scout Leader and have provided some of the resources I have made for this role where I feel that may be of use to others.

Facts: Life in Kenya and Kikuyu Names

(2)
A couple of pieces that I wrote about Kenya when I had an English tutor. One looks at the naming traditions of the Kikuyu tribe whilst the other looks at the typical days of a 10 year old girl both during holiday time and on a normal school day. These sheets might be useful for introducing pupils to the differences between the UK and Kenya.

This set of files contains the contours needed to construct a 3D model of Ingleborough. You can either print out a few copies of the image and stick it on card and cut the layers out or if you are lucky enough to have access to a Denford Laser Cutter you can use the contained MCM files (see the word document). The Publisher document contains a map to help with the assembly of the model and 3 pictures with the question which of them matches the given contours. This resource was originally made for a Cub Scout Competition.

Bird themed resources - research before project

Here are a couple of sheets I made for one of our classes that was making bird feeders. One of the two sheets is a matching exercise where the pupils have to draw lines to link up the pictures of the birds with their names and descriptions. The other sheet is related to why the number of garden birds are decreasing and formed the basis for a piece of research that they needed to do.

Here is a sheet that I drew up that contains a 3D template for students to draw their ideas on. It also contains a simplified and topic adjusted version of Erica_C_Hanson's 'How to Annotate' sheet. These resources were used with an Autistic Group of Year 7/8 Students at the Special School I work at. I hope you find them useful.

A sheet for students to name a selection of Map Symbols. Originally made for my Cub Scouts but could be used for a range of other settings including Duke of Edinburgh. The sheet asks you to write the name that relates to a variety of Map Symbols.

Existing Products ACCESS FM Analysis (Mirrors)

(1)
A set of sheets that I made for our Special School (Autism) to help introduce Access FM Analysis to them. They were doing a topic on making MDF frames for mirrors so as a bit of research had them do the analysis of these existing products. There are 8 different designs in this pack. There are short hints to what each word of ACCESS FM means.
