I'm currently training as a Primary Teacher so making a wide range of resources using a variety of programmes including ActivInspire and Smart Notebook. My shop also has some of my past resources that I made during my time as a Special Needs Support Assistant. I am also a Cub Scout Leader and have provided some of the resources I have made for this role where I feel that may be of use to others.

A PowerPoint complete with starter, plenary and worksheets all embedded within the same Presentation. This was made whilst I was in my Second Placement on my Teacher Training Course. The warm-up activity is a series of multiplication questions that are displayed for 6 seconds each. This is followed by L.O. and S.C. then a page where I would model solving the questions on a whiteboard. This page also has a series of 3 differentiated questions to check the pupils understanding of the content. They would then move on to small question sets with 5 questions per set. These have been designed to enable pupils to decide the level they wish to work at and to move between them after a set of questions. The plenary has 4 different mistakes for different level groups to spot and discuss with a partner. This can then be shared with hte other members of the class. The linked video shows clips from various points during the presentation. (Youtube: KyxAs_Js_UE)
Also included is a bonus PowerPoint for Column Addition. This is in a similar format to the multiplication resource. This also includes worksheets as part of the PPT. There is a Pyramids Addition warm-up and a block method evaluation included in the PPT.
This project is based around the ID theme from the Cornerstones Curriculum. The booklet was produced for a medium ability special needs class. All pupils in the class have a statement of autism. This booklet uses my older style without regular self assessment instead it relies on teacher feedback.
There are pages on research, design ideas, final design, how to make, construction and final piece.
This booklet was originally made for a Design and Technology club that I was running at my Special Needs school. We had a range of pupils from Year 5 to Year 9. It was aimed at helping the students in primary transition in to secondary. The project was carefully chosen to use as wide a range of skills as possible. All of the students have a statement for autism. The workbook starts with a page on DT room safety; it then looks at the properties of materials and why they are suitable for the tasks we want to do with them; a bit of product research; design work; two worksheets covering how to vacuum form and solder and a simple sheet to do an evaluation on.
A work book made for Key Stage 3 Special Needs students with a statement of Autism who are following the Cornerstones Curriculum. In this Design and Technology project students will design and make a night light. Please note that this booklet requires the use of an oven and a laser cutter to complete so is not suitable for primary settings (unless they have strong links to a secondary school). The booklet is aimed at a lower to middle ability group. Each page contains a lot of structure to support students as they complete the project. The pages also include space for pupils to take part in self or peer assessment. The booklet includes pages on: Design Brief Analysis, Research, Specification, Initial Ideas, Modelling, Circuit Design, Final Ideas, Production Plan, Manufacture, Outcome and Evaluation. It also contains a number of hand drawn pictures.
A 5 minute sound file that has been used to simulate an air raid at school and my Cub Scout Pack. It starts with an air raid siren, then has explosion sound effects before finishing with the all clear. We have used it separately and in association with my Child's War Quiz (WW1 & WW2), We pushed some tables together and covered them with a sheet / tarp to make an shelter. A smoke machine was used for extra effect.
ActivExpression Quiz - Answers included to enable use as a paper based quiz.
Focuses on events that would have affected children including: Rationing, Evacuation and Air Raids.
Some teaching slides included within the quiz.
Last slide required 'Air Raid Sound Effect&' that I&';ve uploaded separately. (Due to size restrictions.)
If you are from outside the North East you may wish to modify one quiz slide and two teaching slides.
Here is a quiz I made for the Cubs in the summer term. It has a logo round, a Scouting knowledge round, a song round (using a clean version of the 4 chords song - link to youtube as was too big to upload embedded) and then the answers. I hope it might come in useful to someone.
A worksheet that asks students to match pictures of tools to their names by drawing a line between them. Designed for lower ability students. Originally made for use with some of our students working at the lower national curriculum levels in the Special School I work at for Children with Autism.
A worksheet that asks students to colour in the tools they will use in a project from a selection of given tools. Designed for use with our Special Needs students (autism).
A set of Posters that I made to put up in our Scout Hut. One set has the Promises and Laws for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Another set show some important people within Scouting and what their roles are.
This sheet shows 4 of the stages that I took our Scout Groups badge through whilst designing it. It clearly shows how different parts of a design can be modified and changed and built on as a design progresses.
A score sheet for an Egg Drop Team Building Activity. Each of the materials available for use has a purchase price and the teams score based on how much of their budget they have remaining as we as on design and whether the egg survives.
A poster to show students what is expected of them if they are performing at the Democracy level of the Raise Responsibility system. This is a system that encourages students to take ownership of their own behaviour.
A matching exercise where students have to match photos of various objects with the symbols that related to them. Originally made for use with my Cubs but should also come in hand for training those on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and anyone learning basic map skills.
A TEACCH activity where students have to match a photo of the type of tool to a simple description about what it is used for. This worksheet includes: Laser Cutter, Pillar Drill, Vinyl Cutter and Thermo Forming Centre.
The first part of an ActivExpression Quiz that I'm making for my Cubs and Scouts. It has a mix of general knowledge questions. One question that relies of Maths skills. This part of the quiz includes multiple questions on the same slide so can only be done with ActivExpression handsets not Activotes. It would be possible to change the quiz so you can complete it on a piece of paper. I&'ll upload the other rounds once I&';ve made them.
A booklet for children to explain the dangers the are around them. This includes choosing two places and listing the dangers associated with them. There is also space to write about strangers danger, fire safety, the green cross code and to develop their own code. Originally it was made for my Cub Scouts so that they could complete their Personal Safety Badges at home.
A recipe card for Ugali. This is the Staple Food through much of East Africa including Kenya. I've made it for my Cubs on a few occasions. It is quite bland and should really be eaten with some fried greens, typically something like kale or cabbage.
A sheet that shows some Swahili words and the translation in English. The words could also be cut out and used as a matching activity. Covers 10 words / phrases.
A sheet for students to name a selection of Map Symbols. Originally made for my Cub Scouts but could be used for a range of other settings including Duke of Edinburgh.
The sheet asks you to write the name that relates to a variety of Map Symbols.
