Eating well KS1 PSHE lesson.
A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 1, however, the activities are also suitable for use in Year 2, or even younger students in KS2 (Year 3).
In this lesson, the children will learn about the Eatwell Guide and how it can help us to eat a healthy, balanced diet. We will discuss the key components of a healthy meal, and with help of scaffolded resources, plan a set of healthy, balanced meals.
The lesson includes a case study starter, a healthy-eating video clip, a meal planning activity, and a roll and colour plenary task.
Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets.

All about feelings KS1 PSHE lesson. A one-two hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 2, however, the activities may also suit younger students in KS2 (Year 3).
In this lesson, the students will learn about different types of emotions and how to recognise them. The students will read ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas and carry out a selection of monster-themed activities.
The lesson includes a case study starter, a read-aloud activity with a comprehension task, a set of emotions sorting cards, a literacy-themed main activity (describing emotions using similes) and a plenary.

New 2024 lesson covering virginity testing, hymenoplasty and the UK law. This is new content added into the draft RSE guidance currently being created by the DfE. Whether or not this subject is included in the final guidance when it’s released, we still feel that it’s an exceptionally important subject to cover. In this lesson students will discover what these terms mean, how cultural norms and traditions can dictate what we would usually perceive to be abuse upon the body of young women, why this needs to stop, where we can go for help and how the law has recently changed to make such practices illegal. Best suited to KS4 and editable.

The lesson focuses on dangerous or risky situations teens may encounter when out and about as well as when they start living independently in the wider world. Family Diversity - EYFS PSHE lesson.
A detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for EYFS/Reception age children. This lesson has been designed for use with children in Reception, however, the PowerPoint and activities could be adapted for use with other age groups.

**Teacher note: Following the recent announcement regarding a ban on the teaching of gender identity, we have temporarily removed this lesson from our scheme of work with a view to updating it, or replacing it once the new RSE guidance has been finalised. The new guidance is expected to go through a 12 week consulation period, following which a final version of the guidance is expected to be released. To ensure full compliance, any changes to this lesson will take place after the new guidance has been finalised. **
This two-hour PSHE lesson is fully equipped with resources to introduce Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 3 students to the concept of gender identity and its distinction from biological sex. Through engaging activities, pupils will explore the LGBTQ+ community, delve into the meaning of gender identity, and discern the variance between gender and biological sex. Additionally, the lesson will address protected characteristics and how the law safeguards both gender transition and gender critical beliefs, emphasising the importance of navigating this topic with sensitivity and respect. Developed in accordance with the latest 2020 guidelines from the Department for Education (DfE) and the PSHE Association.
Teacher note - we are awaiting the outcome of the RSE Review. In the event that gender identity is removed from the primary curriculum, this lesson will be updated accordingly, or replaced with a suitable alternative. It is our expectation that this resource will still be suitable in secondary settings.
