This is an ideal CLIL lesson. Students love volcanoes. Geology has lots of cognates. Part of a cross-curricular revision unit on the 1st world war with dates of birth and deaths of those fallen for France. Can be used primarily to revise days of the week and months of the year in French, also to show how 11th November is commemorated in Poitiers and show the multiculturalism of the fallen (some have got German-sounding names, Jewish-sounding names, Arabic-sounding names, Basque and Spanish-sounding names), a couple are women.
