This is a KS3 introduction lesson on tourism. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is a KS3 lesson on crime around the world focusing on murder rates. The aim is to show how geography can be integrated in other subject matter. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is a GCSE lesson on plate boundaries and hotspots. It meets the Edexcel specification however, it can be adapted easily for other exam boards. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is a GCSE lesson atmospheric circulation. It is suitable for all GCSE specifications. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is a GSCE lesson on depopulation using the Western Isles in Scotland as a case studies. The lesson can also be adapted for A level as well.

This is a GCSE lesson on tropical cyclones. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson explores the definition, location and structure of a tropical cyclone. This is a foundation lesson for studying a case study on the effects of tropical cyclones.
2. The lesson is based on the new GCSE specifications. However, it’s adaptable for an A-level group.
3. It's a complete lesson with all the resources you need to deliver it - a starter, learning activities and plenary. All you will need is the ppt which I've attached. Just teach!
4. The lesson has a range of activities relevant to the assessment objectives of the new specifications. There are numerous video clips to bring to life tropical cyclones, a couple of map tasks and a diagram annotation task examining the structure of a tropical cyclone.
This is a assessment for a rivers unit at KS3. The test assesses students understanding of the features in the upper, middle and lower courses of the river. It also assesses students understanding of landforms created by the river as well as flood defences used by some rivers. There are 11 questions on the paper and the paper is modeled off the GCSE geography exam papers. The paper uses command words familiar with a GCSE paper. There is also a range of questions in terms of difficulty and skills needed similar to a GCSE paper.
This lesson covers the different strategies used to manage river flooding. It’s suited for the new GCSE specification unit on rivers. However, the lesson is differentiated enough to be taught to a KS3 group. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson starts with an OS map skill activity and finishes with a crossword recapping the main flood defences learnt. There are two main new pieces of learning; one covers strategies that are used to forecast and respond to river flooding and the other covers the main hard and soft defences used as flood defences.
2. The lesson has a range of learning activities suitable to different types of learners; there are photos, map task, analytical tasks as well as lots of opportunities for discussion and debate.
3. The strength of this lesson is it’s differentiation. It was designed for the new GCSE specifications however, it was deliberately differentiated so that it could be used at KS3 to introduce students to the content and skills of GCSE geography.

This lesson is on the causes and effects of flooding. It’s suited for year 9s as well as a GCSE group. Key facts about the lesson are:
The lesson starts by using a video clip to introduce the definition and nature of floods. Then there is a task that help students to learn about the human and physical causes of floods. Finally the lesson explores the effects of floods using a couple of really engaging activities.
The lesson has a range of learning activities suitable to different types of learners; there are video clips and photos to make real the nature of floods. There is an animation clip to reinforce learning on the causes of floods. There is also an activity where students have to extract information from a still photo clip and a no commentary video clip. This task will really develop those interpretation skills that are key to a geographer.
The lesson was designed to introduce aspects of the new GCSE specifications in year 9. However, it will easily suit the learning needs of a GCSE group as well.

This is KS3 lesson designed to develop students geography enquiry. It’s helps students reflect on the questions geographers ask when learning about a place. It’s ideal for all KS3 groups. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. All the resources for teaching the lesson are included. The ppts have everything from starter to plenary including all the geography resources for active learning. Download and just teach!
2. The lesson is differentiated with a range of learning activities i.e. there is a video clip, picture studies, discussion and written tasks.

This is an GCSE level lesson on the physical processes that create distinctive upland and lowland landscapes in the UK. It is suitable for all specification but was prepared with the Edexcel B specs in mind. Key facts about the lesson are:
